I was intrigued by the movie even before it won the 2011 Metro Manila film fest. Yesterday I was able to watch it with my brother. After watching the movie we ended up laughing at some of the scenes. But for a Pinoy film it was ok, movies are getting better these days. I haven't seen the other entries to the film fest.
could that mean the other movies are worse ???
Here is a little back ground detail on the film. Asiong Salonga (based on real life criminal / robinhood-like) already had a movie way back in 1961 (Starring Joseph Estrada) and another movie in 1979 with Rudy Fernandez.
I am not entirely sure why they chose Jorge Estregan as "Asiong" must be some kind of tribute to the Estrada (his uncle). I really don't know.
The movie was in black and white, like an old movie. so it must have given the classic look. But there were some scenes where one cannot really see a good view of the environment or what's happening because everything was just so dark.
about the acting, most of the main characters , specially the villains , played really well. I must say that Estregan's acting was a little "off" most of the time and his voice is really annoying.
most of the gun fights were nice. I loved the guns.
some scenes were too long and some were confusing, I am not sure if I'm the only one that noticed that.
Anyway, support Pinoy films. Watch it, it's worth your time trust me ^_^
We had some overtime work before the party and I got out of bed at about 5pm haha.
The party was great there was food and beer everywhere. The mini games were fun and entertaining.
There was one mini game where a pair must finished a bottle of beer and show that it is empty by turning it over their partners' heads. Yes, there were lot's of left over beer on their heads haha
there were also raffle prizes for everyone. There were some small prizes like laptop sleeves and chikka t-shrts, and there were also major prizes like the panasonic and sony digital cameras and 32-inch LCD TV wow!
I got most of the party on video. Still not sure when (or where) to upload
I stayed until everyone went home. It was a nice time to see the co-workers better. In regular office hours you just see them behind their desks.
many keep asking me why I don't drink alcohol. They even persuaded me to take a bottle.
I don't drink alcohol nor smoke cigarettes for very obvious reasons. I don't see why they do not understand that
got to bed at about 3pm
In our first song I lost sound in my guitar amp but I wasn't able to fix it because I was singing , oh well. After the song I bent down to check it out and suddenly the sound went back on. The amplifier was constantly on. It made me think if my guitar cable is broken (again) or if my guitar output jack (or pickups) were messing up again. I really have to do a full diagnostic of my guitar.
here is a list of what I think needs to be fixed with my K-Garage Jr
1. Bridge pickup rewiring
2. output port rewiring/soldering ?
3. pickup selector replacement/rewiring
will start doing this after our December 10 gig at UP Los Baños. Hope it can still hold for a while
Overtime tonight at 11 PM at SMART MAKATI. oh well....
there was a bet here in the office for those who arrive a bit late than the expected time. 5 pesos per offence haha. raffle winner takes all. lol what a challenge
had a General assembly here at the office. GA's are aways fun. they introduce new employees and birthday celebrants. sports activities were announced. this Christmas party there will be a dance off. wow I think i want to join just for the LOL haha
tired, stressful werk today. i think we have overtime work at this Sunday 11pm oh well...
tomorrow is ACF practice day!!! need to review songs for the next gig
